Rachel McMillen is the author of the popular Dan Connor mystery series which includes Dark Moon Walking, and Black Tide Rising, both of which were nominated for an Arthur Award. She was born in England, raised in Australia and lived most of her life in Canada where she spent thirty years sailing the remote west coast that provide the setting for her novels.

She is a former teacher and adult educator whose short stories, poems and articles can be found in numerous anthologies and magazine, and she has served as president of various environmental organizations as well as theater companies and community organizations.
