It is not only a day to celebrate the role of women in our society, but a day to remember the challenges we have faced over the decades to obtain rights and legal protection. This presentation will talk about the history of women’s rights in México, advances made in the last two decades pertaining legal rights, feminist expression in Mexican arts (poetry, paintings and muralism), and the historical importance of women marching on the 8th.
