Ann Marie Jackson, award-winning author of The Broken Hummingbird and columnist for Mexico News Daily, will join us at Open Circle on July 7 to share stories from her book and talk about the joys, challenges, and hard-won lessons of volunteering in Mexico. Jackson is co-founder of Mano Amiga, a nonprofit microlending organization that empowers women by providing training, mentoring, and interest-free loans, enabling women to launch or expand successful small businesses in San Miguel de Allende. She also serves on the advisory board of the San Miguel Writers’ Conference & Literary Festival and the board of Casita Linda, which has built 150 homes for families living in extreme poverty.
